The quarantine phytosanitary treatment is a phytosanitary measure determined by the Ministry of Agriculture ( Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento) – MAPA it is carried out only by accredited companies, with the aim of ensuring that plants, parts of plants and their products, as well as packaging and wooden supports, in export and import operations, are free of pests.
For this, MAPA accredits companies that can carry out phytosanitary treatments for authorized quarantine purposes and issue the respective Treatment Certificates or apply the IPPC mark, as provided for in International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM 15).
